Required Documents
Processing Time
Chase typically processes SCRA requests within 30 days. During high-volume periods (PCS season, deployment cycles), processing may take up to 45 days. You'll receive written confirmation once approved.
Retroactive refunds: If approved, Chase will calculate all excess interest paid since your service start date and issue a refund, typically as a statement credit or check.
Tips for Success
- Submit for all Chase accounts at once—one request covers credit cards, mortgages, and loans
- Keep a copy of your submission confirmation for your records
- If calling, ask for a case number to reference in follow-ups
- Check your statements 30-45 days after submission to verify the rate change
- If you don't see a refund, call and specifically ask about retroactive interest
Common Issues
Rate not reduced after 30 days
Call the Military Services line and reference your case number. Ask them to check the status and provide an estimated completion date.
Retroactive refund missing
Some Chase accounts require a specific request for retroactive refunds. Call and explicitly ask for all excess interest to be refunded from your service start date.
Account opened after service start date
SCRA doesn't apply to accounts opened after you began active duty. However, other military benefits (like fee waivers) may still be available—ask about those.
