Cancelling Service Contracts Under SCRA
What You Need
- Military orders (PCS, deployment, or activation)
- Orders must be for 90+ days
- Written notice to the provider
- Copy of orders attached to notice
When Cancellation Takes Effect
For service contracts like gyms and cell phones, cancellation typically takes effect on the earliest date after you provide notice that:
- Falls after the date of your military orders
- Allows for any required notice period

- Penalties for breaking the contract

- Unpaid balances from before notice
