Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about all 21+ SCRA protections

General

$59 filing fee. No subscriptions, no hidden fees. This includes: eligibility analysis across all 21+ protections, demand letters for every creditor/landlord/provider, certified mail sent with tracking (postage included), response tracking dashboard, 12 months of compliance monitoring, forever document storage, and escalation support if any claim is denied.
Active duty military members, including Reservists and National Guard members on active duty orders for 30+ days, are eligible for all 21+ SCRA protections. This applies to Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Space Force, and commissioned officers of NOAA and Public Health Service.
We handle ALL SCRA protections—not just interest rates. This includes: Financial (6% rate cap, retroactive refunds, foreclosure/repossession protection), Housing (residential lease termination, eviction protection), Vehicle (car lease termination, repossession protection), Contracts (cell phone, internet, gym, home security cancellations), Insurance (professional liability suspension, life insurance, health insurance reinstatement), and Tax/Legal (income tax deferral, state tax domicile, court postponements, professional license portability).

Financial Protections

Under 50 U.S.C. § 3937, the 6% cap applies to all debts incurred before entering active duty: auto loans, mortgages, credit cards, personal loans, student loans, and home equity lines of credit. The cap applies to both interest rate and certain fees. We also recover all past overcharges as a refund.
There's no statute of limitations on SCRA benefits. If you've been on active duty for years and never claimed, we can recover all overpaid interest from day one. Average retroactive refund for 3-year deployments: $2,500+.

Housing & Lease Termination

Yes. Under 50 U.S.C. § 3955, you can terminate residential leases signed before entering active duty or before receiving PCS/deployment orders. Termination is effective 30 days after the next rent payment is due. No early termination fees apply. We generate the legally compliant notice letter and send it via certified mail.
Yes. Under 50 U.S.C. § 3955, you can terminate vehicle leases signed before active duty if you receive orders for 180+ days. No early termination fees apply. Average savings: $2,000-8,000 depending on remaining lease term.

Contract Cancellations

Yes. Under 50 U.S.C. § 3956, you can cancel cell phone contracts without early termination fees when you receive military orders for 90+ days. This applies to contracts signed before receiving orders. We send the cancellation letter with your military orders via certified mail.
Beyond cell phones, SCRA allows penalty-free cancellation of: Internet/cable service, gym memberships, home security systems, satellite TV, and other consumer contracts. The key is that the contract was signed before your orders and you have 90+ day orders. Typical savings: $100-1,000+ per contract.

Insurance Protections

Yes. Under 50 U.S.C. § 3959, professionals (doctors, lawyers, accountants, etc.) can request suspension of professional liability insurance during military service and receive premium refunds for the period of suspension. Coverage must be reinstated without penalty when you return. Average savings: $500-2,000/year.
Yes. Under 50 U.S.C. § 3958, you have the right to reinstate health insurance that was in effect before military service without waiting periods or exclusions for pre-existing conditions. This applies when you return from active duty.

Process & Support

1) Pay the $59 filing fee and complete our eligibility quiz (5 minutes). 2) We analyze your situation across all 21+ protections. 3) We generate demand letters for every creditor, landlord, and provider. 4) We send certified mail with tracking (postage included). 5) We track responses and verify compliance for 12 months. 6) If anyone denies your claim, we provide escalation support.
We have a 98% success rate, but if any lender, landlord, or provider incorrectly denies your claim, we help you escalate. This includes filing complaints with the CFPB, state attorneys general, federal banking regulators, and the Department of Justice. Violating SCRA is a federal offense with serious penalties—most denials are resolved quickly once escalated.
We automatically verify your military status through the DMDC database. For most claims, you just need your military orders (which you upload once). We include these with every demand letter sent. All documents are stored forever in your dashboard.
If you're not eligible for any SCRA protections after completing our eligibility analysis, we'll refund your $59 filing fee in full. Once we've sent demand letters on your behalf, the service is considered delivered. Contact support@scrasaver.com with any questions.
